Pacific Pie Company makes delicious Australian savory pies, pasties and other Aussie treats. We believe that eating great food is one of the true pleasures of life. But beyond serving up old Aussie favorites, we are a values based business that works to promote sustainability, community, and the ethical stewardship of animals and the earth in everything we do.

Animals

Sustainability

Every aspect of our business - from the ingredients we select, to our packaging, right down to the material for our t-shirts - is planned to be as sustainable as possible. As avid lovers of the outdoors, and our beautiful planet, our business tries very hard to use environmentally friendly practices.

Permaculture teaches us about the concept of embodied energy - everything we eat, buy, and do is an accumulation of energy, often in the form of the earth's precious, non-renewable resources. We work to minimize our carbon footprint by buying locally, using secondhand or refurbished products, selecting renewable materials like hemp and bamboo, recycling and composting all of our kitchen waste, using biodegradable cleaning products and so much more. We believe that every time we spend money we are voting for the kind of world we want to live in - so as a business, PPC supports other companies with a sustainable philosophy.

Community

PPC is a positive, proactive member of its community. We pay fair wages, and treat our employees, suppliers, and customers with friendship and respect. Pacific Pie Company supports local non-profits and is a member of the Sustainable Business Network of Portland.

Stewardship

Every ingredient in our pies is carefully chosen according to PPC's high standards of quality. All of our meat is humanely raised, pasture fed and free range. Many of our fruits and veggies come from small scale, family farms that practice organic and biodynamic farming methods. The flour in our amazing handmade pastry is sustainably harvested, and our butter is rBST free.

Donations

Pacific Pie Company supports a number of non-profit organizations working in the environmental and sustainability sectors, as well as Friends of Family Farms, Sisters of the Road, and the Oregon Food Bank.  We will also consider requests for donations to other types of non-profit organizations. If you would like to request a donation for your event or fundraiser, please contact us at least 4 weeks in advance of your event date by emailing sarah@pacificpieco.com
