Pacific Pie Company Dinner Theater

Come join us to hear the amazing story of an Australian adventurer
performed by noted storyteller Lawrence Howard of Portland Story Theater.

In January, 2010, Lawrence Howard premiered the much-anticipated sequel to
Shackleton's Antarctic Nightmare. This second chapter in the Armchair
Adventurer Series is Mawson's Mettle: Alone On The Wide Shores Of The
World. A veteran of one of Shackleton's earlier voyages, Mawson led an
Australian expedition to the frozen continent in 1911. Out sledging with
two other men, Mawson was thrown into peril when one of the sleds -- along
with the six best dogs, most of the food and equipment, and one of his
companions -- was lost in a deep crevasse. After his second companion and
the rest of the dogs died, Mawson struggled against freezing temperatures,
80 mile-per-hour winds, loneliness, grief, illness and starvation, pulling
his one remaining sled for hundreds of miles. This is an epic story of
courage and determination that will move you to the depths of your soul.
Mawson's Mettle played to packed houses and standing ovations during its
January run. Now your friends at Pacific Pie Company are bringing this
extraordinary show to the pie shop. Click here for The Oregonian's review of the show.
Two nights only! Sunday, March 21st and Sunday, March 28th.
6:00pm dinner, show to begin at 7:00pm
Limited seating available so reserve early.
$25 for dinner, homemade dessert, and show.
